Taiwan will not be forced to succumb to China, the president says

Taipei (Reuters)-Taiwan will continue to strengthen its defenses so that no one will accept the path China has set for Taiwan, which offers neither freedom nor democracy, President Tsai Ing-wen said on Sunday.

Taiwan, which claims China is its territory, has increased military and political pressure to accept Beijing’s dominance into international concerns, including repeated missions of the Chinese Air Force in Taiwan’s air defense identification zone.…
