Tensions rise after Taiwanese president says China’s plans offer no ‘free or democratic way of life’

I n a speech during a Taiwanese National Day parade on Sunday, President Tsai Ing-Wen said that Taiwan will not bow to Chinese military pressure, hoping for an ease in tensions between the two countries.
